An increasing number of international architects are winning architectural competitions or getting commissions in Norway. Who are they and what are they building? A new exhibition addressing these questions opens at the National Museum – Architecture on Friday 23 November. The National Museum's building project on the Vestbanen site will be debated in the Norwegian parliament just after the New Year. Based on museum developments this autumn, we want to discuss the museum's plans within the framework of a wider European concept development. European personalities will share their visions for museums of the future during a seminar 6 Nov. at the Astrup Fearnley Museum.
The biggest presentation of Nolde’s artworks ever exhibited in the National Gallery. Nolde is one of the major figures of the expressionist artistic movement in Germany. He was in the heart of the German and European art scenes from the beginning of 20th century until World War II. Press day is October 11th. Opening is October 12 th and the exhibition last untill January 20th 2013.
This is a large international group exhibition which opens at the Museum of Contemporary Art on 13 September. The exhibition adopts the perspective of a traveller on the road to trace connections between historical and contemporary perceptions of Norway’s nature and landscapes. Models from Peter Zumthor’s project for a zinc mine museum at Allmannajuvet and Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk’s project for the Vøringsfossen falls are on show as well as historical maps, prints and drawings, photographs and film.
